KNEE BRACE®
Dynamic Patella Stabilization with Directional Force
Introducing the most advanced
orthopedic bracing technology available for patellofemoral tracking
problems.
Easy to use, fits either right or left
knee.
Wrap around design allows for easier
application, better fit, less migration, and decreased sizing
needs.
Adjustable buttress and flap
system.
Open Popliteal design allows for greater
comfort during flexion.
Successfully controls the common patella
malalignments of glide, tilt, and AP tilt.
Easy Application. Easy as 1, 2, 3.
1
Position brace with hole behind knee an
all straps on the lateral (outside) of the knee. Close the top and
bottom straps of the brace securely around the thigh and calf. Make sure
the patella (knee cap is centrally located in the brace. (See figure 1)
2
Take the U-shaped buttress from the
flap and position the soft rubber side against the lateral outside of
patella. It is important to position the buttress directly next to the
patella. (See figure 2)
3
Bring flap over, so it adheres to the
buttress. Push the buttress inward (medial) with one hand while pulling
the flap straps with the other. Adhere the ends of the flap to the medial
side of the brace. (See figure 3)
Presenting the most advanced orthopedic bracing technology available for the
treatment of patellofemoral tracking problems. The Shields Brace
effectively treats malalignments of patella glide, patella tilt, and AP tilt
by utilizing dynamic force to properly align the patella.
The patella
buttressing mechanism is separated from the support wrap through the use of
an independent Directional Force Flap. This ensures that the buttress
moves freely and remains in contact with the patella during activity, and
moves with the patella through rehabilitation.
Dynamic force against the patella is generated when the Spectron Buttress
is applied in the desired position to the Directional Force Flap, then
pulled tight. The unique U-shaped Buttress unites the properties of
the Spectron non-slip surface with the soft tubular rubber core to create
aflexible, adjustable buttress. The buttress can be custom applied to
treat a wide range of patella ailments.
The Shields Brace is constucted of Kuhl perforated neoprene which allows
moisture to escape and leaves the skin dry and comfortable.
Useful in treating the following:
Common Malalignments of Patella Glide, Patella Tilt, and AP Tilt
Lateral or medial subluxation
Patella Dislocation
Chondromalacia
Rehabilitation After Total Knee Replacement
